Briefs vs Thongs vs Bikini: Which Underwear Style Is Right for You?

Briefs, Thongs, or Bikini: Which One?

You know you want something different from plain cotton briefs. But between briefs, thongs, and bikini cuts — which one actually works for you? It comes down to what you're wearing over them, how much coverage you want, and personal comfort.

Here's a straight breakdown of the three styles we make.

Briefs: Full Coverage

The classic cut. Waistband sits at your natural waistline, full coverage front and back. Maximum support — nothing moves around.

  • Coverage: Full front and back
  • Support: Maximum
  • Best for: Daily wear, long hours, office
  • Watch out for: Waistband might show above low-rise pants

Shop briefs: 001 Lace Brief, 006 French Lace Brief, 002 Seamless Brief

Thongs: No Lines

Minimal back — just a thin strip. The whole point is eliminating visible underwear lines under tight or light-colored clothing. Front support stays good, back is basically nonexistent.

  • Coverage: Full front, minimal back
  • Support: Good in front, nothing in back
  • Best for: Tight clothes, summer, no VPL
  • Watch out for: Takes getting used to if you've never worn one

Shop thongs: 003 Seamless Thong, 005 Hollow Lace Thong, 010 Leopard Thong

Bikini: The Middle Ground

Sits lower on the hips than a brief, with moderate coverage on the sides and back. It's the compromise — more coverage than a thong, less than a brief, with a lower rise that works with modern pants.

  • Coverage: Moderate front and back, lower rise
  • Support: Good, with a modern cut
  • Best for: Low-rise pants, everyday, a more modern look
  • Watch out for: Less support than a full brief for very active days

Which One for You?

Go with briefs if you want maximum support, work long hours, or just want a classic, reliable cut.

Go with a thong if you wear tight or light-colored clothing, hate visible lines, or want maximum freedom of movement.

Go with bikini if you want something modern with moderate coverage, wear low-rise pants, or want a middle ground between brief and thong.
